Raghunath Temple

Of the two temples named Raghunath Temple in Pushkar, the older one is dedicated to lord Vishnu and was constructed in the year 1823. Rama, the epic hero of the Ramayana, is the presiding deity in this temple. He is supposed to be an avatar, or incarnation of the Lord Vishnu.
Lord Vishnu is believed to be the preserver, Lord Shiva the destroyer and Lord Brahma the creator. They jointly constitute the Indian Holy Trinity. According to the Hindu Mythology Lord Vishnu reincarnated in various forms to save his followers from disasters and one such is Lord Rama , whose life have been portrayed in the Ramayana.
There are numerous Gods and Goddesses inside the Raghunath Temple. Housing the images of Venugopal, Narasimha (the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu) and Goddess Laxmi (the much adored goddess of wealth), this temple is reminiscent of ancient India.
Of the seven shrines inside the Raghunath Temple in Rajasthan, each has its own shikhara. This is actually a peak over the sanctum sanctorum of the reigning deity, a conspicuous architectural feature in Indian Temples. Most temples in North India have a distinct shikhara, while in South India the counterpart is known as Vimana.
Another significant feature of Raghunath Temple is the large temple complex, which is supposed to be one of the greatest in North India. Raghunath Temple is an important Temple in Pushkar.
